The Illusion of Choice and A Course in Miracles (ACIM): Part 2

A Course in Miracles (ACIM) plainly points out how perception and choice are incredibly closely linked together. Simply because long as we understand error, the tendency is to continue to choose error through judgment thus making error more real. Our company is the source choosing perceptions, inserting judgment on corresponding results, and finally judging those results as being real as well. All of this leads us back in perception and choice and start the cycle once more. Amazon Books a Course in Miracles

As you perceive, you judge and project; and as you judge and project, you perceive back. Having recognized the judgments and predictions back with you, you will judge those and project them outward until you perceive the results back. The ego is aware no other way. That is a continuous judgmental cycle until you determine to break it; and yes, there is a way to do just that. There is certainly one clear choice off of the merry-go-round, and it is so simple you will scratch your mind in surprise you had not thought of it before now.

Choice remains unsettling because when you make options that further the mistake, or take you more deeply into the illusion, it seems as though you are simply just making choices between the lessor of two evils. That’s because you are only choosing between the sides of the incorrect mind. The ego has a “wrong” and “right” side but neither is the true Right Brain of the Holy Soul. If there was ever before a New Year’s quality worth keeping, it will be: Quit judging and turn them over to the O Spirit for correction instead.

The Tiny Mad Thought:

The initial separation is considered a “tiny mad idea” wherein you thought you were separated from source. This is also called “the error” and is the first choice for view of the ego. Currently down that road in your brain, it becomes another layer every time you judge the consequences, or corresponding effect, from the error as cause. What this means is whenever you judge what you observe or what is going on in the world, and also you choose to believe the ego about it, you are choosing the problem as cause again. Matching effects show up which reinforce your belief in error.

These judgments further divide out the separate mind rather than returning it to peace. Hence, this is why is seems like you are choosing between your lessor of two evils with neither one really being “less”. The error has not took place and only seems real because of your choice of internal Teacher. Picking the ego is like choosing a revolving door with only one get out of.

ACIM says there is no order of with a lot of effort in miracles and that means there is no order of difficulty in choices. You are exactly the same as the next, handled in precisely the same manner. Every problem is equal because they all stem from the same cause. You only think one is harder because of your idea and attachment to it as being more real than another.

Your decision Machine:

The speediest way to turn choice from an unsettling phenomena to one of illusion is to use your decision machine, or observer, to choose differently. Actually, if you wanted to make a judgment against the spirit, there is merely one appropriate choice to make: Select to use your decision maker to choose against the ego and in favor of the O Spirit. This has such enormous power when controlled and used to choose instead for the fact.

Making use of the decision maker can be difficult to understand without program. It is an action-oriented mechanism of using, or choosing. That actually is their big secret and today you know it. You have to do the effort of choosing. Reading these ideas is not enough. Useful application is crucial. Basically be willing to discover how. You will make errors, but just what exactly? We all do. Try again.

Think that of the ego just like a coin system in a can. Every time you listen to and believe that an ego judgment, you put a coin in the can for that topic because you selected it. Keep on doing this, and you will fill the can until overflowing. Step back into neutral, which is the decision maker, and become inclined to turn over those judgments to the Ideal Mind for correction, and you actually spend a coin from the can instead.

Remain in the natural decision maker, or viewer, and wait out the tantrum of the spirit. It is merely the of how much you have invested in that part of the thought system. Don’t act on it! The ego consumes all of those other can of money looking to convince you back again into the judgments. You don’t have to do anything except be inclined and actually give everything you hear to the ideal Mind via the decision making capability. You are choosing between the edges of the split head. That is choice as an illusion.
